Project Investment: £210,000
Completion Date: July 2006
Partners: GOSW, SWRDA, Torbay Council, South Devon College
New business survival rates can be increased substantially by the delivery of a range of valuable support services and the provision of flexible and low-cost business premises. These two principles are combined at the first new Torbay Innovation Centre now established at the new South Devon College Vantage Point campus in Paignton. The project is developed in close collaboration with South Devon College The capital investment in this project has created training space and office space together with a wide range of business support facilities and services.
The goal of the Torbay Innovation Centres is to create new companies and support their growth, enabling them to create and sustain new and high value jobs for the local economy. Each Centre will comprise a "hub" of business support, creating a network that will eventually spread out right across Torbay. The second Torbay Innovation Centre is under construction and should be ready for letting in autumn 2008.
