Completion Date: October 2011
Partners: Brixham 21, SWRDA, Torbay Council, Commercial investment
The third and final element of Brixham's long term regeneration is a further extension to the ports business facilities and includes extensive development of old quarry areas at Freshwater Cove and Oxen Cove. Already firmly established at the Freshwater Quarry site is the world class Astra Zeneca, Brixham Environmental Laboratory. A key element of this phase of the regeneration is the construction of a new breakwater for the harbour known as the 'Northern Arm Breakwater' which will treble the protected harbour space enabling a significant expansion to economic use of both water and quayside space.
These proposed works are at the early concept stage and will be implemented in partnership with Brixham 21, the town's community regeneration partnership.
